Gladiator LOVER OR HATER

You either love them or hate them but they are popping up everywhere. So it sucks for you if your not a fan of the warrior sandal considering people will still keep wearing them at least until next season. Fashion icon Betsey Johnson once said, “Girls do not dress for boys. They dress for themselves and, of course, each other. If girls dressed for boys they’d just walk around naked at all times.” Betsey hit the nail on the head with this one considering most males see this look and think of a girl lacing up for the movie 300. I on the other hand would love to be labeled a badass Spartan but that’s another story.
The love/hate reaction of the shoe came to my attention yesterday while sitting in a nail salon. The notorious nail artists that talk about you and SWEAR that you cannot comprehend what they are saying. Your right I can’t understand what you are saying, but I can however read body language. One woman says to the other something about my boots and actually goes to touch them. If this does not give me the hint that you are speaking about what I am wearing or me then you must think I am absolutely oblivious. I don’t know how many handbags or shoes I have brought to nail salons over years and watched as they actually tried on or touched and made comments to each other about it. So I guess Betsey was once again right am I dressing for other women? Apparently I have to be dressing for the nail artists. They are going to critique the hell out of me so I should always be looking my best. However, back to my story I watched as one explained to the other that she liked my boots and the lady responded back to her “NO NO TOO HIGH.” Thank god a pedicure is relaxing because playing the role of my Spartan self yesterday I almost wanted to kick her in the face for that comment. And scream, “Tonight we dine in hell.” Yes, 300 is available on demand so I obviously saw it and needed to quote that. That being a little aggressive, but I mean she did have my feet in her hand. So basically the rest of the appointment was just plain awkward.

Love them or hate them but don’t forget to pack your Spartan attitude if wearing them out in public. You may need to protect yourself from the gladiator hater.

I of course LOVE my gladiator sandals from LF Soho that are Sam Edleman’s circus collection.
My shorts were perfect for yesterday’s extremely humid weather found at Oasis Boutique in Montclair, NJ
Tank from Aritzia (extremely comfortable I could literally sleep in that.)
Bag is Prada thanks to my grandma for letting me rock it 900 times.
