The Future Of Fashion Is Looking Bright!

This past Wednesday I had the opportunity of being a guest at the Future Fashionistas fashion show held at the Wilshire Grand Hotel in West Orange, New Jersey. Thanks to MTL Communications I was able to witness firsthand all the talent and hard work behind this program. I could not have been more impressed at what a fantastic job the 6– 18 year old girls accomplished. Gazing in awe as I watched them show off their creations they personally sewed during their time with the program.

I had the chance to speak with Future Fashionistas owner Hallie Dennis who pleasantly showed me around as the girls anxiously prepared for their fashion show. Ms. Dennis’ daughter Dylan showed off her New York City inspired dress proudly. It came as no surprise that the program is extremely positive for young girls in helping with self-confidence and delivering a powerful message of girl power. The energy was contagious in the room that night and the girls were just as proud of themselves and each other as the parents, guardians, and their role models were of them.

The girls not only showed off one outfit or collection for the night but rather several pieces each including a line with Zara Tarez in which contestant Emily Chaleff won the opportunity of having her skirt design in Zara’s upcoming fall collection this year.

Reversible ponchos with hobo bags, one shoulder dresses and shirts, butterfly tops and Zara print bottoms, contrast sleeves on a-symmetric tops, pajama bottoms and matching bags, rocker tees, 14 panel leather zipper back dresses, infinity scarves and matching crop tops, tear and skater dresses, and pieces to even dress their dolls the girls so incredibly showed off their originality and creativity. Each piece had its own uniqueness from the rest of the group.

The future of fashion is looking very bright keep up the great work girls!
